2. CBIC Customs Integrated System: EoI Issued to Pick Agency
- The Union government issued an Expression of Interest (EoI) to select an agency to build a Customs Integrated System (CIS).
- The step formally begins modernising and fully digitising India's customs operations.
- The effort is led by CBIC through its Directorate General of Systems and Data Management.

3. PMGSY Completes 25 Years: Rural Road Connectivity Scheme
- PMGSY completed 25 years in December 2025; it began on 25 December 2000.
- It is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme for all-weather roads to eligible unconnected habitations.
- PMGSY-IV (2024-29) targets 25,000 habitations and 62,500 km of roads.
4. Good Governance Day 2025: DoPT’s Five Digital Initiatives
- On 25 December 2025 Jitendra Singh launched five DoPT digital initiatives on Good Governance Day in New Delhi.
- They include an AI Recruitment Rules Generator Tool and the e-HRMS 2.0 mobile app.
- iGOT AI platforms and KDLL 2.0 support capacity building under Mission Karmayogi.
5. PM-VIKAS Scheme: NIFTEM-K and Minority Affairs MoU
- NIFTEM-K signed an MoU with the Ministry of Minority Affairs in December 2025 to implement PM-VIKAS.
- PM-VIKAS is a Central Sector Scheme for skills, entrepreneurship and livelihoods of minority communities.
- It subsumes earlier livelihood-oriented schemes of the ministry; launched in 2023.
- Scheme rollout is expected from January 2026.

6. IRDAI Fines Reliance General Insurance Rs 1 Crore
- IRDAI imposed a ₹1 crore penalty on Reliance General Insurance.
- Action followed a 2021 remote inspection and four charges.
- Section 40 caps commissions; Section 102(b) provides penalties.
7. SEBI Duplicate Securities Rules: Limit Raised to ₹10 Lakh
- SEBI doubled the simplified-documentation limit for duplicate securities certificates from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh.
- A uniform Affidavit-cum-Indemnity Bond format is introduced; up to ₹10,000 needs no notarisation.
- Duplicates will be issued only in demat form.
8. IRDAI Risk-Based Capital and Ind AS 117 from April 2026
- IRDAI brings two major reforms for insurers from April 2026: Risk-Based Capital norms and Ind AS 117.
- Earlier all insurers kept a uniform solvency ratio of 150%.
- Ind AS 117 is India's version of IFRS 17 and replaces Ind AS 104.
9. IRDAI Powers Against Insurance Mis-selling: Bima Amendment Bill
- The Sabka Bima Sabki Raksha (Amendment of Insurance Laws) Bill, 2025, cleared by Parliament, gives IRDAI stronger powers.
- Clause 36 lets IRDAI cap commissions and require their disclosure; Clause 25 bars cross-posts with banks.
- IRDAI can suspend or cancel intermediary registrations under amended Section 42D.
10. SBI YONO 2.0: Unified Digital Banking Platform
- SBI launched YONO 2.0, an upgraded version of its YONO (You Only Need One) platform.
- It joins mobile banking, internet banking and a marketplace with common KYC and login.
- It launches in English and Hindi, with more languages planned.
11. Canara ai1Pe UPI App: Features and UPI Circle
- Canara Bank launched Canara ai1Pe, a UPI app for simple, secure, inclusive payments.
- Accounts from any bank can be linked; device binding and UPI PIN protect payments.
- UPI Circle lets family delegates pay within a monthly limit, for example ₹15,000.

12. India’s IPO Market Record: ₹3.8 Lakh Crore in 701 Issues
- India's IPO market raised about ₹3.8 lakh crore through 701 IPOs during 2024-25.
- That exceeds the combined total of the previous four years.
- Book building with a price band is the most common IPO type.
13. Customs Integrated System: One Digital Platform for Customs
- The Customs Integrated System (CIS) will be a single national digital platform for customs.
- It will merge ICEGATE, the Risk Management System and ICES.
- These systems now run separately and do not fully talk to each other.
- CIS aims to end this fragmentation.

14. India to Chair Kimberley Process From 1 January 2026
- India will chair the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme from 1 January 2026.
- This will be India's third turn as Chair; it takes over from the UAE.
- The Kimberley Process was established in 2003.

15. Agriculture Infrastructure Fund: Features and Impact
- AIF is a ₹1 lakh crore Central Sector Scheme launched in 2020 for post-harvest and farm-gate infrastructure, running 2020-2030.
- It gives 3% per annum interest subvention on loans up to ₹2 crore, with CGTMSE credit guarantee cover up to ₹2 crore.
- Repayment is up to 7 years including a moratorium of up to 2 years.
- Over ₹40,000 crore of loans were sanctioned during 2020-2024.

16. Neelus sikkimensis: New Springtail Species Found in Sikkim
- ZSI scientists announced Neelus sikkimensis, a new springtail from high-altitude Sikkim.
- It is the first Indian record of the genus Neelus.
- The species is eyeless and belongs to Collembola.

17. K-4 Missile Test from INS Arighaat: 3,500 km SLBM
- India test-fired the K-4 missile, range about 3,500 km, from INS Arighaat in December 2025.
- INS Arighaat is India's second nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine; the firing was in the Bay of Bengal off Visakhapatnam.
- K-4, also called Kalam-4, honours A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.

18. Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Conferred on Vaibhav Suryavanshi
- Cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi, aged 14, received the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar.
- Seven-year-old chess prodigy Pragnika Vaka Lakshmi was also honoured.
- President Droupadi Murmu conferred the awards on a group of children.
19. Shravan Singh: 10-Year-Old Honoured for Bravery in Operation Sindoor
- Shravan Singh, aged 10, is from Chak Taran Wali village in Ferozepur, Punjab.
- During Operation Sindoor tensions he regularly took tea, milk, lassi and other essentials to Army troops near his village.
- His courage and compassion won national recognition.
