Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Safalsetu (safalsetu.com) collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Safalsetu is a free study website that publishes current affairs, government schemes and one-liner updates for competitive exams.

1. What we collect

When you only read the website, we do not ask for any personal information and we do not use advertising or analytics trackers. Our server keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and to keep the site running.

When you fill in the “Get free updates” form, we collect:

  • your name;
  • your WhatsApp mobile number;
  • the exam you chose (for example SSC, Banking or Railway);
  • the page on which you filled in the form and, if you came from a link with a campaign tag, that tag (for example utm_source).

To stop spam, we briefly count form submissions from each IP address. This counter is kept in a coded (hashed) form and is deleted automatically after one hour.

2. How we use your information

  • To send you the study updates you asked for, such as current affairs for your exam, on WhatsApp.
  • To reply to you when you contact us, and to tell you about Safalsetu study features that match your exam.
  • To keep the website secure and to understand, in total numbers, which exams our readers are preparing for.

We use your information only because you gave it to us for these purposes. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see section 6).

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We share it only when needed to run the service:

  • Hosting: our website and its database are hosted by Hostinger.
  • WhatsApp: when we message you, your number and the message pass through WhatsApp (Meta).
  • Fonts: our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which can see your IP address.
  • Law: when we are required to by law or by a lawful order of an authority.

4. Cookies

We do not set advertising or tracking cookies for readers. Cookies are used only when our own team logs in to manage the website.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your details for as long as you want to receive updates. If you ask us to delete them, we will delete them within 30 days, unless we must keep something to meet a legal requirement.

6. Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what information we hold about you;
  • correct or update it;
  • delete it and stop sending you updates;
  • raise a complaint about how we handle it.

Email us at privacy@safalsetu.com from any address and mention the mobile number you gave us. We will reply within 30 days.

7. Students under 18

If you are under 18, please fill in our form only with the permission of a parent or guardian. If we learn that we hold a child’s details without that permission, we will delete them.

8. Keeping it safe

Our website uses HTTPS, and only authorised members of our team can see the details submitted through our forms. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
