Why in the news
The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana reached its 25th year in December 2025, a landmark for rural connectivity.
About PMGSY
- Aims at a single all-weather road to eligible habitations, per the core network, linking villages to markets, schools, health centres and administrative hubs.
- Nodal body: Ministry of Rural Development, via its Rural Roads Wing with States and UTs.
