  • The Panchayati Raj Minister launched the Atmanirbhar Panchayat Programme and the SAMARTH Panchayat Portal in July 2026.
  • The programme sits under RGSA and turns idle local assets into revenue-generating projects.
  • SAMARTH is a national platform to manage panchayats' own source revenue digitally.
  • In Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh it has 51 lakh taxpayers, ₹95 crore in demand notices and over ₹27 crore collected.

14. PRAXIS: NASA’s Concept to Sample Planetary Ring Particles

  • PRAXIS (Planetary Rings Autonomous EXploration with In-situ Sampling) is a NASA JPL concept led by Dr B. Marco Quadrelli.
  • It won NIAC 2026 Phase I funding, a nine-month feasibility study, and is not an approved flight mission.
  • It would be the first mission to collect planetary ring particles directly, using bio-inspired robotics and real-time AI.
  • NIAC runs in three phases: about nine months, about two years, then mission readiness.
