1. ICJS Digital Rollout: Criminal Trials Go Paperless in 2027

  • From 1 January 2027, every probe and trial under the three new criminal codes is to be recorded in digital form.
  • ICJS links police, courts, prisons, forensics and prosecution on one platform, with data kept on the MeghRaj cloud.
  • The national ICJS implementation score moved from 46.47% in January 2025 to 70.06% in June 2026.
  • BNS, BNSS and BSA took over from the IPC, CrPC and Evidence Act on 1 July 2024.
  • Under BNSS Section 173, any police station can register a zero-FIR irrespective of jurisdiction.

12. WLGSP-Coops: Cooperative Grain Storage Plan Explained
