6. Rustic Bunting Sighted in Delhi NCR for the First Time

  • A rustic bunting was sighted at Najafgarh Jheel, Delhi NCR, on 1 December 2025, a first confirmed record for the region.
  • Local guide Ram Kumar Rawat first noticed the bird; other birders later confirmed the identification.
  • The 2025 IUCN update moved the species from Vulnerable to Near Threatened.
  • It breeds in wet coniferous woodlands of the northern Palearctic and usually winters in East and Southeast Asia.

7. Kizilelma UAV downs aerial target with GOKDOGAN BVR missile

  • Baykar announced on 1 December 2025 that Bayraktar Kizilelma fired the GOKDOGAN air-to-air missile at a high-speed jet-powered target.
  • The uncrewed aircraft detected, tracked and hit the target at beyond-visual-range distance.
  • It uses the MURAD AESA radar for detection and tracking.

8. Fiscal Health Index 2025: NITI Aayog’s State Ranking
