Urban female literacy is 84.9%, yet urban female labour force participation is only 28%.
The literacy-employment gap is about 22 points in rural areas and about 57 in urban areas.
Nationally, female literacy is 74.6% with a 33-point employment gap.
Between 2005 and 2019, female education rose and fertility fell, yet participation fell.

It targets 100 agri-districts by converging 36 Central schemes from 11 ministries.
Outlay is ₹24,000 crore per year for six years from FY 2025-26, reaching 1.7 crore farmers directly.
