7. NUCFDC Seeks RBI Nod for Digital Services in Small UCBs

  • NUCFDC will ask RBI to let small UCBs with net worth below Rs 50 crore offer internet banking, mobile banking and UPI.
  • Present rules allow digital services only for UCBs with net worth above Rs 50 crore; over half of India's 1,462 UCBs fall short.
  • NUCFDC, licensed in February 2024 as a mid-layer NBFC, is building a shared tech stack for 440 partner UCBs.
  • Its queries to RBI and the finance ministry were still unanswered.

9. Sheikh Hasina Sentenced to Death by Bangladesh Tribunal

  • The International Crimes Tribunal in Dhaka sentenced Sheikh Hasina to death on 17 November 2025 for crimes against humanity.
  • The trial was held in absentia; Hasina has lived in India since leaving office in August 2024.
  • Former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal also received a death sentence.

10. India’s Agricultural Exports: Growth, Drivers and Import Mix

  • Farm exports rose 8.8% to $25.9 billion in April-September 2025, against only 2.9% growth in total merchandise exports.
  • In FY 2024-25 agricultural exports grew 6.4% to $52 billion while merchandise exports grew just 0.1%.
  • The US imposed a 58% effective tariff on Indian seafood; US-bound marine exports fell 26.9% in September 2025.
