1. e-DAR and iRAD: Black Spot Data for Road Safety

MoRTH will publish national highway black spot data for 2023 and 2024 drawn from the e-DAR/iRAD system.
e-DAR/iRAD records geo-tagged accident data in real time through an app used by first responders such as police.
A black spot is a 500-metre National Highway stretch with 5 or more fatal or grievous-injury accidents, or 10 deaths in 3 years.

2. Asian Youth Games 2025: India Wins Record 48 Medals in Bahrain

India won 48 medals (13 gold, 18 silver, 17 bronze) at the Asian Youth Games 2025, its best ever.
The 2025 Games were held in Manama, Bahrain, from 22 to 31 October.
The multi-sport event is run by the Olympic Council of Asia for athletes aged 14 to 17.

7. Household Debt vs Assets: RBI Data for 2024-25

Household financial assets rose 48% to ₹35.6 lakh crore in 2024-25, from ₹24.1 lakh crore in 2019-20.
Annual financial liabilities of households grew 102% over the same stretch, far above the 48% for asset additions.
Assets fell from 12% to 10.8% of GDP; liabilities rose from 3.9% to 4.7%.

8. Maldives Enforces World’s First Generational Tobacco Ban

The Maldives became the first country to enforce a generational tobacco ban, effective 1 November 2025.
The ban covers everyone, tourists included, born after the 1 January 2007 cut-off.
Import, sale, possession and use of vaping devices are banned for all ages.
Fines: 50,000 rufiyaa for retailers selling to underage buyers; 5,000 rufiyaa for individual e-cigarette violations.

9. US Orders Resumption of Nuclear Weapons Testing After 33 Years

The US has ordered nuclear weapons testing to resume after a gap of 33 years; its last test was in 1992.
The CTBT of 1996 bans all nuclear explosions; the US signed it but has not ratified it.
Analysts say the move could push Russia, China and others to resume tests.
Russia signed the CTBT in 2000 but withdrew its ratification in 2023.

Nano urea is IFFCO's liquid nitrogen fertiliser (2022), sprayed on leaves instead of being applied to soil.
IFFCO says a 500 ml bottle can replace 52 kg of urea.
A study found lower paddy and wheat yields and reduced grain protein with nano urea.
