1. Ponduru Khadi GI Tag: Handspun Cotton From Srikakulam

Ponduru Khadi, a handspun, handwoven cotton fabric, received a Geographical Indication tag.
It is locally called Patnulu and made only in Ponduru village, Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh.
It was nominated under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme.

EPFO: weekends, holidays and job gaps up to 60 days will not break service for EDLI eligibility.
EDLI Scheme (1976): compulsory life cover for all EPF members, paid for by the employer alone.
Maximum benefit to the nominee is ₹7 lakh.

4. Risk-Based Deposit Insurance: RBI Board Clears New Premium Model

RBI's Central Board approved risk-based deposit insurance at its Hyderabad meeting.
Premiums will track each bank's risk, replacing the flat 12 paise per ₹100 of assessable deposits.

IRDAI proposed that insurers may invest up to 20% of controlled funds in infrastructure SPV debt.
The draft drops the parent company guarantee requirement.

India and Oman signed a CEPA, India's second major West Asia trade pact after the UAE.
Oman removed duties on 98.08% of tariff lines, covering 99.38% of India's exports.
Oman opened 127 services sub-sectors and allows 100% FDI in key services.

ISRO was set to launch the US-built BlueBird Block-2 satellite on LVM3-M6 on 24 December 2025.
The launch is commercial, for AST SpaceMobile.

At the close of the 2nd WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine, PM Modi launched TMGL, the Traditional Medicine Global Library.
TMGL is a digital repository built by India and WHO, with data from 194 countries.

9. Gaganyaan Mission: ISRO’s First Human Spaceflight Programme

Gaganyaan is the first programmed step in building India's human spaceflight capability.
Three astronauts, called vyomanauts, will orbit Earth at 400 km for three days.
The launch vehicle is the human-rated LVM3 (HLVM3); the programme is estimated at about ₹9,023 crore.
Preparatory tests include IADT, Pad Abort Test and Test Vehicle flights.

10. Erivan Anomalous Blue Butterfly on Armenia’s COP17 Logo

Armenia released the COP17 logo for the Convention on Biological Diversity featuring the Erivan Anomalous Blue butterfly.
The species, Polyommatus eriwanensis, is endemic to Armenia and lives in calcareous grasslands.
It is not on the global or European IUCN Red Lists but is Endangered in Armenia's Red Book (2010).
It is univoltine, with one generation a year.

The US launched Operation Hawkeye Strike against ISIS targets in Syria.
It followed a 13 December ISIS attack that killed two Iowa National Guard members and a civilian interpreter.
F-15 Eagle, A-10 Thunderbolt II and AH-64 Apache aircraft were used.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called the action a declaration of vengeance.
