3. Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs): Types, Rules, Investors

  • AIFs are privately pooled investment vehicles regulated by SEBI (Alternative Investment Funds) Regulations, 2012.
  • SEBI groups them into Category I, II and III by investment objective.
  • Minimum investment is ₹1 crore, with at least 3 years of lock-in and up to 1,000 investors per scheme.
