17. PLFS April 2025: Monthly Jobs Data Snapshot

  • Revamped PLFS began in January 2025, giving monthly estimates using Current Weekly Status and a rotational panel.
  • April 2025: LFPR 55.6%, WPR 52.8% and unemployment rate 5.1% for persons aged 15 and above.
  • Youth (15-29) unemployment was 13.8% overall; urban females in that group saw the highest rate at 23.7%.
  • Data is not directly comparable with PLFS reports before January 2025.
