Monsoon erosion at Fort Kochi's South Beach exposed remains believed to be Fort Emmanuel (1503).
CUSAT marine geologists say the laterite and surkhi structure likely belongs to the fort.
Researchers are checking if it is Portuguese original or Dutch rebuild.

2. 25th Central Zonal Council Meeting Held in Varanasi

The 25th Central Zonal Council meeting was held in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, chaired by the Union Home Minister.
Central Zonal Council members: Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand.
Zonal Councils are statutory bodies set up under the States Reorganisation Act, 1956.

India performed 13,476 kidney transplants in 2024, far short of the 1 lakh recommended each year.
Deceased organ donation has stayed below one donor per million population.

The Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act, 1994 governs the field.

Tripura was declared fully literate under the ULLAS - Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram.
It is the third state to achieve full literacy, after Mizoram and Goa.
ULLAS is a centrally sponsored scheme for 2022-2027 aimed at adults aged 15 and above who missed schooling.
The ULLAS mobile app supports digital learning, tracking and certification.
