1. National Sports Day 2025: Dhyan Chand tribute and Mondo Track

National Sports Day is observed every 29 August on Major Dhyan Chand's birth anniversary.
Dhyan Chand won Olympic hockey gold in 1928, 1932 and 1936, and received the Padma Bhushan in 1956.
The 2025 theme promotes one hour of play a day, with events from 29 to 31 August.
India's first Mondo Track was inaugurated at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi, by Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
India became the 25th country to have the Mondo track surface.

4. RBI Weighs Curbs on Shadow Lenders’ Overlapping Subsidiaries

RBI is considering asking NBFCs to scale down subsidiaries whose lending overlaps the parent's.
The move aligns NBFC rules with those proposed for banks.

MoSPI released Annual Survey of Industries results for April 2023 to March 2024 (FY24).
India had 2,60,061 factories; Tamil Nadu led with 15.43%, then Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Maharashtra led in gross value added with 15.95%, while Gujarat led in fixed capital with 19.53%.
GVA grew 11.89% in current prices and employment rose to 1,95,89,131 persons.
