7. E100 Ethanol Roadmap: Challenges of 100% Blending in India

  • After Nitin Gadkari's appeal on 21 April 2026, India is looking beyond E20 to E100 and ethanol-based Sustainable Aviation Fuel.
  • Petrol gives 45-55% more energy per litre than ethanol, so E100 vehicles deliver lower mileage.
