FLFPR fell from 31.2% (2011-12) to 23.3% (2017-18), then reached 41.7% in 2023-24, led by rural women.
Women reporting domestic duties dropped from 57.8% to 35.7%; self-employment grew but real earnings fell.
Rural women in agriculture rose from 71.1% (2018-19) to 76.9% (2023-24).

Sumit won his third consecutive F64 javelin title at the World Para Athletics.
His winning throw of 72.35 m was a season's best and a meet record.

3. UPSC Completes 100 Years Since Its Founding in 1926

UPSC completed 100 years on 1 October 2025; it began as the Public Service Commission on 1 October 1926.
Sir Ross Barker was the first Chairman; the Lee Commission's recommendations led to its creation.
The Government of India Act, 1935 turned it into the Federal Public Service Commission.
It gained constitutional status on 26 January 1950 under Article 315.

RBI started a one-year incentive scheme running from October 2025 to September 2026.
Banks earn 5%-7.5% of the amounts involved, subject to a ceiling of ₹25,000.
An account is inoperative when the customer has made no transaction for 2 years.
Payouts depend on account age and deposit size.

RBI lets banks count overseas-raised perpetual debt fully inside the 1.5% of RWA AT1 ceiling.
Earlier, under half of that 1.5% could come from overseas issuance.

PhonePe and Mastercard jointly rolled out a tap-and-pay option for Mastercard cardholders.
Shop purchases are completed by touching an NFC-enabled smartphone to a compatible payment terminal.
Tokenised online transactions are also supported, on Android phones that have NFC.
Mastercard credit, debit and prepaid cards can all be stored on the handset.

Cheque clearing moved from batch to continuous mode; Phase 1 ran 4 October 2025 to 2 January 2026.
