1. Thousand Pillar Temple Dance Hall Restored After 42 Years
- ASI completed a 42-year restoration of the Kalyana Mandapam (dance pavilion) of the Thousand Pillar Temple, Hanamkonda, Telangana.
- The temple is a Trikutalaya for Shiva, Vishnu and Surya, built in 1163 AD by Kakatiya king Rudra Deva.
- Restoration used Kakatiya sandbox technology: a foundation pit of sand, lime, jaggery and karakkaya acting as a cushion.
- Ramappa Temple in Palampet, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2021, also uses sandbox technology.
