1. Sadasivakona Inscriptions: ASI’s Trilingual Vijayanagara Find

ASI found three 16th-century stone inscriptions at Sadasivakona in Seshachalam forest, Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh.
The records are trilingual, in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada, and were copied as estampages for study.
The main inscription records King Sadasiva Raya's visit, a royal donation and construction of a Shiva temple and a mutt at Papavinasa.

2. Pradeep Singh Kharola Named Executive Advisor to Air India Chairman

Pradeep Singh Kharola, a 1985-batch IAS officer, was appointed Executive Advisor to Air India Chairman N. Chandrasekaran.
He is a former Civil Aviation Secretary and was Air India CMD from 2017 to 2019.
He will also sit on the Air India Management Committee during a leadership transition.
The move comes as CEO Campbell Wilson prepares to leave.

3. Air India Launches Varanasi Hub-and-Spoke Easy Connect Flight

Air India launched Easy Connect hub-and-spoke service from Varanasi on 25 June 2026 with flight AI1111.
Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu inaugurated it at Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport.
Passengers reach 17 international cities via Delhi, with immigration cleared at Varanasi and no baggage re-check.

4. Mumbai Port Authority Marks 154th Foundation Day; 63 Projects Unveiled

Sarbananda Sonowal unveiled 63 projects worth Rs 5,028.17 crore on the 154th Foundation Day of Mumbai Port Authority.
Seven projects worth Rs 132.29 crore were inaugurated and 34 worth Rs 1,354.59 crore got foundation stones.
Twenty-two new projects worth Rs 3,541.29 crore were announced.
The theme was 'Together We Can'.

On 24 June 2026 RBI replaced scoring with a simple test: NBFCs with assets of ₹1 lakh crore or more are Upper Layer.
The asset threshold is reviewed every three years; the directions apply immediately.
Government-owned NBFCs lose their concentration-risk exemptions; existing breaches can run off until maturity.
Bank-group NBFCs doing the same activity as the parent bank must follow commercial bank norms.

7. RBI Draft Model Risk Management Guidance for AI/ML Models

8. RBI Final NOP Norms: Single Unified Forex Position From 2027

The final NOP amendment directions came out on 24 June 2026 for banks and AIFIs, effective from 1 April 2027.
Banks no longer calculate onshore and offshore positions separately; one unified NOP covers everything.
Specified structural foreign-currency positions can be excluded, case by case, without prior RBI approval.
Derivatives can be measured at current spot rates without present-value adjustment, using benchmarks from authorised administrators.

India's CAG K. Sanjay Murthy and Israel's State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman signed an MoU in New Delhi.
The MoU centres on AI-driven auditing and data analytics.

Englman also gave a lecture on AI in public sector auditing during his visit.

C-DOT set up its fourth Centre of Excellence at IIT Hyderabad, after IIT Kanpur, IIT Gandhinagar and IIT Roorkee.
Research areas include 5G/6G, MIMO, integrated sensing and communication, quantum technologies, cybersecurity and AI.
The startup WiSig Networks will work on disaggregated 5G O-RAN solutions.
C-DOT CEO Rajkumar Upadhyay and IIT Hyderabad Director B.S. Murty signed the MoU.

At Rashtrapati Bhavan's second Civil Investiture Ceremony, President Droupadi Murmu presented 65 Padma Awards; the first one, on 26 May 2026, covered 66.
The 2026 list of 131 is split as 5 Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri.
The list has 19 women, 16 posthumous honourees and 6 foreigners, NRIs, PIOs or OCIs.
Padma Awards were instituted in 1954 and are announced yearly on Republic Day by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
