3. PMFME Scheme: Subsidy, ODOP and Support for Micro Food Units

  • PMFME was launched on 29 June 2020 under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
  • Individual units get a 35% credit-linked capital subsidy, capped at ₹10 lakh per unit.
  • ODOP under PMFME is approved for 713 districts in 35 States/UTs, covering 137 unique products.
  • SHG members receive seed capital of ₹40,000 each, up to ₹4 lakh per SHG.

5. FCNR(B) Swap Facility: RBI Window to Draw NRI Deposits

  • Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reviewed the RBI's concessional swap facility for FCNR(B) deposits and asked banks to widen NRI outreach.
  • FCNR(B) is a foreign-currency term deposit of 1 to 5 years, with principal and interest fully repatriable.
  • Under the swap, banks exchange the foreign currency with RBI for rupees at a concessional cost, reversed at maturity.
