PM Modi Releases Stamp, Coin on 350th Martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur

On 26 November 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur, the Ninth Sikh Guru, at a ceremony in Jyotisar village, Kurukshetra, Haryana.

About the commemoration
Guru Tegh Bahadur is honoured for defending people against forced conversions under Mughal rule. Students from a Patiala school, representing Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian communities, performed kirtan together for about half an hour. The event also recalled Bhai Jaita, who carried the Guru’s severed head to Anandpur Sahib.
