Once NPCI allowed Paytm to add new UPI users again, it introduced custom UPI IDs to improve privacy and attract customers.

Key facts

  • Personalised handle, no mobile number linkage; for now Yes Bank and Axis Bank only.
  • Other features: hide transactions, monthly summaries, PDF/Excel statements, one-view balances, Receive Money and Scan & Pay widgets.
  • UPI Lite auto top-up up to ₹5,000.
  • International UPI for travellers: UAE, Singapore, France, Mauritius, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Nepal.
