The roadmap ‘Reimagining Manufacturing’ proposes IP reforms and a technology push to build a competitive, frontier-technology-led manufacturing base.

Challenges

  • IP reforms: faster approvals for modern technology applications and cheaper green, reliable energy.
  • Frontier tech: AI and machine learning, robotics, digital twins, advanced materials; sustained funding and shared R&D and testing facilities.
  • Industry-academia collaboration and cluster-focused deployment.
  • Modular, cluster-aligned skilling under the National Manufacturing Mission.
  • A Global Frontier Technology Institute as a centre of excellence.

Phase 1 (FY2026-FY2028)

Launch strategic steps for adoption, build skilling and technology diffusion frameworks, and set up infrastructure and funding.
