Why in the news

The Health Ministry plans to link RDRI with e-Raktkosh to save lives and cut costs for patients with rare blood groups or genetic blood disorders.

About e-Raktkosh

  • A centralised IT solution standardising blood bank work nationwide; launched 7 April 2016 by MoHFW.
  • Objective: follow the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and National Blood Policy.
