1. Keeladi Excavation: Vaigai Valley Urban Site and Sangam Age

Keeladi, in Sivaganga district on the Vaigai about 12 km southeast of Madurai, has yielded over 18,000 antiquities.
Digs began in 2014 under K. Amarnath Ramakrishna.
Carbon dating places the site between 800 BCE and the 1st century CE.
No temples or religious structures were found.
