7. Shivalik Fish Fossils Found Near Dehradun: Gourami Record

  • First freshwater fish fossils found in Shivalik foothills near Mohand, outskirts of Dehradun, a site earlier known only for land animals.
  • Fossils are otoliths (fish ear bones) from the Pliocene, around 4.5 million years ago.

8. Mission MITRA: ISRO’s Ladakh Analog Study for Astronauts
