2. NSTFDC: Tribal Finance Body Marks 25th Foundation Day

NSTFDC celebrated its 25th Foundation Day; it was set up in 2001.
It is a Government of India PSU under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
It lends through State Channelising Agencies, regional rural banks and nationalised banks, not directly.
Schemes include Adivasi Mahila Sashaktikaran Yojana, Micro Credit Scheme and Adivasi Shiksha Rrinn Yojana.

3. RBI Draft: ₹1 Trillion Upper Layer Rule for NBFCs

RBI draft norms place any NBFC with assets of ₹1 trillion or more automatically in the Upper Layer.
Large government NBFCs such as PFC, REC and IREDA would move to the Upper Layer for the first time.
Once classified, an entity stays under Upper Layer norms for five consecutive years, even if assets dip below ₹1 trillion.
Tata Sons' status remains unclear while its de-registration application is pending.

4. Rupee Arbitrage Trades: RBI Deputy Governor Warns Banks

RBI Deputy Governor T. Rabi Sankar, speaking in Paris, criticised banks for arbitrage between onshore and offshore (NDF) rupee markets.
Banks bought dollars locally and sold them offshore, adding pressure on the rupee.
Banks had to unwind roughly $30 billion of such trades after RBI curbs.
