Challenges
Thin industrial corridor infrastructure, shortage of skilled talent, low R&D spending, fragmented supply chains and slow technology adoption on shop floors.
Proposed interventions
- IP reforms: faster approvals for modern technology applications and cheaper green, reliable energy.
- Frontier tech: AI and machine learning, robotics, digital twins, advanced materials; sustained funding and shared R&D and testing facilities.
- Industry-academia collaboration and cluster-focused deployment.
- Modular, cluster-aligned skilling under the National Manufacturing Mission.
- A Global Frontier Technology Institute as a centre of excellence.
Phase 1 (FY2026-FY2028)
Launch strategic steps for adoption, build skilling and technology diffusion frameworks, and set up infrastructure and funding.
