1. ALMM Solar Framework Extended to Ingots and Wafers

  • The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy extended the ALMM framework to solar ingots and wafers, effective 1 June 2028.
  • ALMM is a quality assurance mechanism allowing only approved, verified solar manufacturers and models in government-supported and regulated projects.
  • The ALMM Order was issued in 2019.
  • The step supports self-reliance in the solar value chain and less import dependence, especially on China.

11. Rupee Hits Record Low of ₹93.72 Against the Dollar
