About the awards
The awards are named after Ramnath Goenka, the founder of the Indian Express, and were set up in 2005 to mark his birth centenary. The Prakash Kardaley Memorial Award for civic journalism in 2026 went to Sandeep Dighe (Times of India) and to Sreya Chatterjee and Arvind Ojha (India Today).
