PMSMA Turns 10: A Decade of Care; NZP Saathi App Launched
Why in the news
The health ministry began country-wide events for ten years of the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan. Separately, a Union Minister of State in the environment ministry introduced a smart app and ticket kiosks at the Delhi zoo.

Background
- RMNCH+A: MoHFW’s strategic approach covering reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health as one continuum across the life cycle.
- JSSK (Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram), started in 2011: free delivery, C-section, drugs, diagnostics, diet, blood transfusion and transport for pregnant women and sick newborns, so that no out-of-pocket cost arises.

- Opened by the environment, forest and climate change Minister of State at the National Zoological Park (NZP), New Delhi.
- NZP Saathi App and self-ticketing kiosks aim to make visits app-guided and cashless.
