4. GOBARdhan Bioenergy Scheme: Rs 23,731 Crore CBG Plan

  • The Cabinet approved a scheme worth Rs 23,731 crore from 2026-27 to 2035-36, run by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry.
  • The target is to raise compressed biogas (CBG) output nearly tenfold over the scheme period.
  • GOBARdhan expands to Galvanising Organic Bio-Agro Resources Dhan; it began in 2018 under Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen).
  • Six growth engines include assured offtake, administered pricing, capital aid, pipelines, credit guarantee and a challenge fund.

6. CVA Risk Capital: RBI’s Draft Revised Framework for Banks

  • RBI proposed new capital rules for credit valuation adjustment risk on bank derivatives, replacing the 2011 framework from 1 April 2027.
  • Banks must follow the Basic Approach (BA-CVA), either Reduced or Full.
  • Banks with non-centrally cleared derivatives of Rs 10 trillion or less may set CVA capital at 100% of counterparty credit risk capital.
  • Small finance, payments and local area banks are outside the draft.

21. NITI Aayog Report on Empowering Caregivers by 2047

  • NITI Aayog released 'Reimagining Care: Strategies for Empowering Caregivers in Viksit Bharat@2047'.
