VB-G RAM G: 375 permissible works notified, 41% more than before
Why in the news
On 6 October 2026 the Ministry of Rural Development notified 375 permissible works under the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), or VB-G RAM G.
Key facts
- 375 works against 266 in the earlier framework, an increase of about 41%.
- Works are grouped under four pillars; disaster preparedness is a newly added category.
- Livelihood-related works now make up 26% of the list, compared with only 1.1% earlier.
- 181 works are linked to agriculture and allied activities, including 52 individual-beneficiary works.
- 107 works target vulnerable households; 36 are women-focused and 36 youth-focused.
- Projects will come from Viksit Gram Panchayat Plans prepared on local needs and approved by the Gram Sabha.
