e-Sanjeevani crosses 50 crore teleconsultations
Why in the news
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced on 6 October 2026 that the national telemedicine service e-Sanjeevani had crossed 50 crore teleconsultations on 15 September 2026.
Key facts
- Total: 50,00,92,730 teleconsultations.
- Coverage: all 36 States/UTs; English plus 14 Indian languages (15 languages).
- Women users: 57.14%; people aged 46 and above account for 40.15% of consultations, and those over 60 for 16.25%.
- Peak day: 6,30,315 consultations; daily volume is usually 2.5 to 3 lakh.
- Network: over 1.42 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, nearly 20,000 hubs, 901 online OPDs and about 2.42 lakh registered providers.
- AI: its Clinical Decision Support System won a Gold Award in the National e-Governance Awards; it is also linked with ERSS-112.
- Specialist OPDs: offered through AIIMS Jodhpur, AIIMS Jammu and AIIMS Patna, with JIPMER and PGIMER Chandigarh planned.
About e-Sanjeevani
e-Sanjeevani is a Made-in-India digital health service built by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Mohali, under the guidance of the Health Ministry. It began as a hub-and-spoke model linking doctors at health centres with specialists, and now also offers online OPD consultations directly to patients.
