About the model
| Concept | What it means here |
|---|---|
| Platform-as-a-Service | The Centre has built the software, security and cloud hosting; other bodies subscribe and pay their own pensioners without building costly software |
| Direct Benefit Transfer | Money flows from the government accounts office to the pensioner’s bank account with no middle layer |
| Lifecycle coverage | Handles a case from start of retirement through audit and authorisation to monthly payment |
Significance
- Removes middle-layer delays and prevents ghost pensioners, so the full amount reaches the beneficiary.
- Reduces the burden on elderly citizens, who need not visit several offices for pension slips or tax forms.
