About loitering munitions
A loitering munition is a drone that carries its own warhead. It can circle a target area, search with its cameras and then dive on a chosen target. In the recover-and-reuse mode it can be brought back if no strike is made, which is why that mode has a shorter range.
Exam angle
- Match: Nagastra series – SDAL, Nagpur.
- Remember 25 km / 50 km, 4 kg warhead, 650 mm RHA, 60 minutes.
- RHA = rolled homogeneous armour, the standard for measuring penetration.
