Nabcons AI Projects: Water Bodies, Carbon Credits, Agri Tech
Nabcons also beat its annual business and revenue targets in FY25 while rolling out several technology projects across states.
Key projects
- Tamil Nadu: AI-based Hawk-Eye for the Single Window for Integrated Waterbody Protection; gives real-time health checks near Chennai, spots encroachments from satellite images and warns of violations and flood risk.
- Bihar: a SaaS tool for COMFED to digitise dairy receivables and operations.
- Kerala: Kathir (earlier Kerala Krishi Hub), a digital agriculture platform linking farmers, departments, vendors and surveyors.
Carbon credit pilot, Kolar
- Partner: Rabobank; participants: small and marginal agroforestry farmers.
- Satellite imagery with ground-truthing is used to calculate Carbon Removal Units (CRUs).
- CRUs are sold to global firms through Rabobank’s ACORN platform, with no secondary market, so deals stay direct between farmer and buyer.
Exam angle
- Nabcons: consultancy arm of NABARD.
- Kathir was formerly Kerala Krishi Hub.
