The National Medical Commission told medical colleges to spread the word about a digital platform that helps health researchers protect and commercialise their inventions without paying from their own pocket.

- NMC advisory: dated 1 July 2026, signed by NMC Secretary Dr Raghav Langer, addressed to all medical colleges and healthcare institutions.
- Platform: a centralised, expert-led digital IP incubator for the health sector, launched by Union Health Minister JP Nadda at the International Symposium on Health Technology Assessment (ISHTA).
- Backers: ICMR (owner), NITI Aayog (guidance), Department of Pharmaceuticals (partner, under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers), DPIIT (supporter, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry).

Aims

About ICMR
- Set up in 1911 as the Indian Research Fund Association and renamed ICMR in 1949; headquartered in New Delhi.
- Works under the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, as the apex body for formulating, coordinating and promoting biomedical research.
