Official figures show India completed over 18,900 organ transplants in 2024, its best yearly count. The number is nearly four times the level seen in 2013.

About NOTTO
The National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO) promotes donation awareness and helps coordinate transplant infrastructure across states. In August 2025 it also issued a 10-point advisory on gender disparity in organ allocation.
