- Schedule: 3-23 February yearly, repeated in July (summer), to cover migratory and resident birds.
- Method: groups of 2-5 volunteers; random picks from 180 proposed regions.
- Volunteers are trained in bird identification; a pilot survey was run at Nehru Zoological Park.
About Nehru Zoological Park
- Construction began 26 October 1959; opened 6 October 1963.
- Managed by the Telangana Forest Department; named for Jawaharlal Nehru.
