4. Mission SEHAT: ICAR-ICMR Nutrition and Health Mission

  • Mission SEHAT (Science Excellence for Health through Agricultural Transformation) was jointly launched by ICAR and ICMR on 11 May 2026 in New Delhi.
  • Its five-pronged plan covers biofortified crops, integrated farming, anti-NCD foods, farmer occupational safety and One Health.
  • NFHS-6 (2023-24) shows a dual burden: about 19.7% of people have low BMI while 27.3% of men and 30.7% of women are overweight or obese.
  • Among under-5 children, stunting fell to 29.3% from 35.5% and severe wasting to 5.2% from 7.7%.

8. BC Recertification Rule: BCRC Seeks Grandfathering from RBI

  • RBI's April 2026 draft branch-authorisation policy requires Business Correspondents to get advanced IIBF certification from 1 July 2026.

12. ICG Inducts Hovercraft H-561, First of Six Indigenous ACVs

  • The Indian Coast Guard inducted H-561, first of six indigenous Air Cushion Vehicles, at Chowgule Shipyard, Rassaim, Goa on 18 June 2026.
  • Chowgule & Company Private Limited builds them under a ₹387.44 crore Ministry of Defence contract of 24 October 2024.
  • H-561 cruises at 52 knots, seats 42 personnel along with 8 tonnes of cargo, and can operate for 9 hours.
