The Bibi Fatima Women’s Self-Help Group from Teertha village in Dharwad district, Karnataka, has been named an Equator Prize 2025 winner, the only one from India. The award is given by the UNDP.

About the group’s work
The group promotes millet-based mixed cropping with natural farming on rainfed land. It runs community seed banks that supply free seeds and a solar-powered millet processing unit making rotis and vermicelli. Partners include Sahaja Samruddha and the Indian Institute of Millets Research.
