SEBI is pushing investors to route adviser fees through a central platform to curb fraud.
Key facts
- Purpose: stop fraud and unauthorised collection via a secure channel; confirm advisers are SEBI-registered.
- Modes: UPI, UPI Autopay, net banking, IMPS, NEFT, RTGS, cards, eNACH, cheques.
- Usage: over ₹5 crore by 10 June 2025.
Upcoming measures
- SEBI Check (1 October 2025): verifies UPI handles and bank details; structured handles with suffixes such as @valid; verified ones show a green triangle with thumbs-up.
- SEBI to work with platforms so only verified investment apps are listed.
