The CoWIN portal stayed offline from early August 2025, making COVID-19 vaccination certificates hard to get for travel, jobs or medical needs.
Key facts
- Full form: COVID Vaccine Intelligence Network; launched January 2021.
- Nodal ministry: Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
- Functions: registration, scheduling, tracking and certification of COVID-19 vaccination.
- Access: CoWIN website, Aarogya Setu, UMANG, DigiLocker; verification by OTP, biometric or demographic checks.
