Why in the news
As reported on 10 October 2025, the Ministry of Education, together with Atal Innovation Mission (NITI Aayog), is promoting the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025, an innovation drive for school students across the country.
Key facts
- Organisers: Ministry of Education in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog.
- Eligibility: students of classes 6 to 12, with emphasis on Aspirational Districts, tribal regions and remote areas.
- Prize pool: Rs. 1 crore, shared among national, state and district level winners.
- Participants are encouraged to create ideas and prototypes for a self-reliant India.
- It is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

About the initiative
