9. SEBI Proposes Lower Z-Score for Commodity Derivatives SGF

  • SEBI released a consultation paper to ease risk norms in commodity derivatives, saying current safeguards look overly conservative.
  • Today's SGF stress tests use 15 years of prices with extreme moves capped at a Z-score of 10.
  • Proposal: cut the Z-score threshold from 10 to 5.
  • Clearing corporations keep the Settlement Guarantee Fund so that trades settle even after member defaults.

  • India joined the BRICS Centre for Industrial Competencies (BCIC), a platform for manufacturing, MSME and Industry 4.0 cooperation.
