Why in the news
The Government of India, the Nagaland Government and the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) agreed to set up the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority, giving more self-rule to six eastern districts.

- FNTA is an autonomous body within Nagaland, not a new State, seen as a negotiated alternative to the statehood demand.
- Districts: Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire, Longleng, Noklak, Shamator.
