The Government launched PRARAMBH 2026 to prepare taxpayers and officials for the Income Tax Act, 2025, which starts on 1 April 2026.
About PRARAMBH 2026
Its full form is Policy Reform and Responsible Action for Mission Viksit Bharat. It is an outreach effort to educate taxpayers and ease compliance. The Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) frames policy and oversees rollout, while the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) handles administration and execution of direct tax reforms and outreach.

- Smooth shift to the new tax regime, with less confusion and compliance burden.
- Trust-based taxation: voluntary compliance, honest reporting and lower evasion.
- Simpler provisions and fewer disputes and litigation.
