1. Citizenship (Amendment) Rules 2026: e-OCI and minor passports

  • The Home Ministry notified the Citizenship (Amendment) Rules, 2026 on May 1, 2026, revamping the 2009 Rules.
  • Form XXIX introduces an electronic OCI certificate; registration, renunciation and cancellation must be done online.
