1. Critical Mineral Recycling Incentive: 58 Firms Approved

  • The Ministry of Mines finalised the first beneficiary list for the ₹1,500-crore critical mineral recycling incentive scheme.
  • 58 companies were approved, with about ₹5,000 crore of investment commitments and 850 KTPA of recycling capacity targeted.
  • JNARDDC served as the project management agency for technical evaluation of proposals.
  • Payouts are performance-linked and released only after projects begin actual production.

2. Piprahwa Buddha Relics Exhibited in Ladakh: Tathagata Explained

  • The sacred Piprahwa relics of the Buddha were brought to Ladakh for a public exposition in 2026.

3. NCLT President: Justice Anupinder Singh Grewal Appointed

  • Justice Anupinder Singh Grewal was appointed President of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) on 30 April 2026.
  • Tenure is five years from taking charge or until he turns 67, whichever comes first.
  • He follows Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar, who held the post from 1 November 2021.
  • Born 10 March 1964 in Ludhiana district, he became an Additional Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on 25 September 2014.

12. PAI 2.0: Panchayat grades, pillars and state results

  • PAI 2.0 is a data-driven framework to track and encourage over 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats on Localization of SDGs.
  • Panchayats get a composite score from 0 to 100 and are placed in five grades, from A+ Achiever to D Beginner.
  • No Panchayat reached A+ in 2024, 3,635 were Front Runners (A) and 1,18,824 were Performers (B), the biggest group.
  • Tripura led, with about 80% of its Panchayats in Grade A; Uttar Pradesh had all 57,678 Gram Panchayats take part.
