3. Mogaveera Co-operative Bank: RBI’s Six-Month Curbs

  • RBI placed Mumbai's Mogaveera Co-operative Bank under directions for six months from close of business on 12 June 2026.
  • Without RBI's prior approval the bank cannot grant or renew loans, invest, or accept fresh deposits; a depositor may withdraw no more than ₹1 lakh.
  • The banking licence is not cancelled; salaries, rent and electricity bills can still be paid.
  • Eligible depositors keep DICGC insurance cover of up to ₹5 lakh per bank.

4. IRDAI Draft Changes to Insurer Registration Rules After 100% FDI
